Questions
Steel building FAQ
Do I need a building permit?
It depends on the city or county and how you'll use the building. Some rural areas have few requirements; cities and some counties require permits and sealed drawings. Check with your local building department. We can provide the engineer-sealed drawings and plan packages they typically ask for.
Can I put it up myself?
Many owners and local contractors erect their own kits using the erection drawings. If you'd like help with erection or construction, check that box on the quote form and we'll talk through options.
How does delivery work?
Kits are drop-shipped by truck to your site. You'll need road access for a semi and a plan for unloading. We'll confirm exact delivery and unloading needs with your quote.
What about the foundation?
Your foundation is designed around the building's reactions and anchor bolt layout. Foundation plan packages are available, and your local concrete contractor builds it before the kit arrives.
